IHM 2026 Legends Ball Honoree | Jeffrey W. Sloan

Bio:

Jeffrey W. Sloan is blessed to be a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, director and sound engineer. He graduated from Cincinnati’s esteemed School for Creative and Performing Arts which helped to heighten the development of his talents.

While obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Cincinnati, he played for and sang with the Hanarobi Contemporary Gospel Ensemble.

Jeffrey began his official role as Minister of Music at the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in 1982. He is presently Minister of Music at his home church, Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church, spanning 41 years and at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church for the past 28 years.

In his Christian walk, he joined with other exceptionally blessed and talented musicians in the group Muzic Co. The Best Gospel Jazz Band in the Tri-state, as touted by I Hear Music In The Air, Inc. at their Gospel Awards show. Muzic Co. was initiated to mentor up and coming, young musicians.

Jeffrey has played for the likes of Dottie Peoples, Donald Lawrence, Joe Pace, Charles Fold, O’landa Draper, and Ricky Dillard, to name a few. In addition, he was asked to play at the book signing for the author of “The Butler” (basis for the award winning movie), Wil Haygood. Jeffrey was also chosen as the musical consultant for the award winning play, “From The Mississippi Delta”.

One of his favorite sayings, when asked how he has kept his commitment to the ministry so long is, “To whom much is given, much is required”. His favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.
